Singer and reality TV star Traci Braxton passes away at age 50 from esophageal cancer. Her husband, Kevin Surratt, shared the news with TMZ. He shared that she passed away after a lengthy battle, which she chose to fight privately. “We have come to a time where we must inform the public that after a year of privately undergoing a series of treatments for Esophageal cancer, our beloved Traci Braxton has gone on to glory,” he said in a statement. Later, the Braxton Sisters – Toni, Towanda, and Trina, took to social media to confirm the tragic news.
Her son, Kevin Jr., left a heartfelt message on his Instagram page.
Traci Braxton sang background vocals for her sister, Toni, and years later would appear on seven seasons of “Braxton Family Values.” In 2014, she released her R&B hit “Last Call,” which rose to #16 on the Billboard Hot 100. In addition to reality TV and music, she appeared in various movies: There’s a Stranger in my House (2019), Sinners Wanted (2018), CHAAW (2022).
The family reported that Traci was surrounded by family. She is survived by her husband Kevin, her son, Kevin Jr., and one grandchild. We send our deepest condolences to Traci Braxton’s family and loved ones.
